FAQ — cooker circuit installation London

Can you fit on the same day as quoting?
Often yes for like-for-like swaps with existing circuit. New circuits need a half-day. £50 priority charge for same-day completion.

How long does it take?
1.5-2 hours like-for-like swap. 3-5 hours new circuit. Half a day if a consumer unit upgrade is needed.

Will you remove the old cooker for me?
Yes — disconnect, isolate, leave ready for the new appliance. Included in the price.

Do you connect the cooker too, or just leave the circuit?
Both. We do the electrical install and the connection. For gas-side work on dual-fuel cookers we’ll coordinate with your Gas Safe engineer.

What’s a CCU (cooker control unit)?
A wall-mounted switch + socket combo (or just a switch) installed within 2m of the cooker for emergency isolation. Required under BS 7671 for any dedicated cooker circuit.

Are you NICEIC certified?
Yes — NICEIC Approved Contractor, £5m public liability, Part P registered. Every install gets a sequential NICEIC certificate verifiable online.
